In these days market costs that seems average in price. Concrete
@100$ + a yard the foundation will eat up half that price, Metal
buildings will be about 1/4 and assembly, electrical, yada, yada, yada
will consume the rest. At least you can add T hangars at your airport,
here at JAC we are out of developable {S}? space, a many years waiting
list and no relief in sight.. Let us know the rental rates of those...

I'd like to see the specs.
Does that include the land?

Can these hangars be readily converted to chicken farms if the aviation
industry goes bust?

I suspect that there is not that large of a variance in the cost to build
hangars around the country, but there definitely is a large variance in the
cost to rent hangars... I've seen 'em rent for as low as $75 per month and
they had no waiting list... I've seen them rent for nearly $400 and the
waiting list was so long that people had been on the list for *years* and
still had a hundred other people in front of them... At the airport where I
currently have a hangar, the wait wasn't too bad -- perhaps 6 months or
so... There were airports where there was no wait, but I don't want to
hangar my aircraft somewhere that I have to drive 60-100 miles just to get
to the airport... My current airport has plenty of vacant land, but as far
as I've been able to determine, no one has any for sale... I have suggested
to the aiport that they acquire the land on the other side of the railroad
tracks and let someone put in some T-hangars over there... They expressed
concern about pilots having to cross the railroad tracks... I suggested that
pilots are pretty good at looking out for air based traffic, so I figure
that we could figure out how to look out for slow moving large metal objects
traveling at an altitude of zero AGL... The cost of having the railroad add
a crossing there would be minimal compared to utility of being able to have
access to all the land on the other side of the tracks... The land is
situated between two sets of railroad tracks... It is now used as farm land
and from what I've seen, it doesn't have road access, so I doubt that the
owner can use it for much else...

No. The City of Geneva owns the land.

By state law, all structures in Alabama must be convertible to chicken farms.

The award was to a rebid. Perhaps the bids broke the budget the first time
around and the scope was modified.

I probably won't know; I'm ~140 mi. from Geneva.
Similar hangars under construction near me at Fairhope will rent for $300/mo.
+ $20/mo. in "fees."
